Echo Hose Ambulance announces its 2011 Volunteer of the Year

Echo Hose Ambulance is so fortunate to have a dedicated membership who are committed to helping and serving those in need of emergency care. This year our 120 Volunteers spent over 17,000 volunteering serving the City of Shelton . Each Year the Executive Board of Echo Hose Ambulance evaluates its membership and determines which member will be awarded the distinguished award of “Volunteer of the Year.”
This year the Executive Board selected Lisa Infante as this year’s recipient. Lisa was certified as an EMT and began volunteering with Echo Hose Ambulance in July 2006. She has since has earned the certification level as EMT Advanced. Lisa, who is a mother of four children, has dedicated her free time to serving the residents of Shelton . Lisa rides a consistent shift on Monday overnights. This shift is traditionally one of the busiest overnight shifts each week. Even after numerous calls and a sleepless night, Lisa returns home to get her children ready for school each week. Besides the hours that Lisa spends riding each week on her set shift, she also is one of our most active first responders in the community. If you are sick or injured in the White Hills section of town or if we need to scramble and add additional crews because of heavy call volume, you are likely to see Lisa there. Her time and efforts spent volunteering on an ambulance and first responding to calls, as well as being part of the many community events that Echo Hose Ambulance sponsors each year, has earned her the title of this years “Volunteer of the Year.” We thank Lisa for her time, effort and commitment to our organization and to the City of Shelton . We also would like to thank her family who awaken many mornings without their mother being home so she can help those in need. To Lisa and to her entire family, we are grateful that you are part of the Echo Hose Ambulance team...
